In the moon

Sometimes my dear husband takes an interest in strange things. Such things involve, for example, kitchen knives. Apparently not any old knife will do for our veggies and lumps of meat and stuff. It has to be a special knife.

So a while ago he went and bought us a superknife (apparently a bread and veggie knife or something). It's this weird looking thing, which was demonstrated to him as suitable for cutting metal. The guy in the shop showed him how it can cut a hammer, and Jim was duly impressed.

Now I think it's nice he takes an interest in our cooking equipment, really. But when you get right down to it, when exactly are we ever going to need a bread knife that can cut a hammer?

Unfortunately, not only does this bastard of a knife cut through hammers, it also cuts through chopping boards (both wooden and plastic, I am delighted to say), kitchen worktops and our wedding china. And Jim insists on using it, as it's so handy.
