Ah, May, the best of months. Sunny, fresh mornings, flowers and weeds pushing up through the cracks in the pavement, blue skies, first freckles of the summer, long and warm evenings... And Sof's birthday, naturally. Well, it seems we will be moving soonish, since our application for the house was accepted and we've paid the deposit for it. The only thing now to wait for is that our guarantor could get the paperwork checked by his solicitor and all that will work out, and then we could sign the contract, pay the first rent and move in. God knows how long that'll take, but fingers crossed, maybe not that long? I've now been working for four weeks already. Another interesting week. We've been finding a lot of stuff that I've found fascinating, although I'm told that really it isn't. Apparently, to a lot of people, everything has to be prehistoric in order to be interesting... Prehistoric shmehistoric. Prehistoric archaeology is nothing but patches of different coloured dirt in the ground. Hmph. We're having a long weekend once again. Jim has gone to town to get us wine and wraps. Hopefully they will ease the burden of laundry and cleaning... It's a perfect timing for a long weekend: we can clean and start packing non-essentials in peace (and slight state of tipsyness). May bliss for everyone! - Sof - |
